[ money may not mean much to dal, but it has to mean at least a little something, right? money has long since established itself as a necessary evil which is why it's become so easy for jun to exploit people's need for it. doing something as simple as paying for someone's lunch or buying them coffee so they don't have to makes people think of him as a friend, as someone they can rely on and that they need.
it's sort of what he's been trying to do with dal, even though dal assures him that he doesn't have to.

Galen thinks for a moment, a thoughtful look. She's not opposed to burgers but it's generally not a go-to for her. But she's heard a few places mentioned that are better than the usual fast food fare.
"I know a quote-unquote gourmet burger place. It's only about a twenty minute drive from here. We can go tonight if you want. It's not the sort of place that requires a reservation."

Vampire life was not at all something he ever expected to have. Or unlife? Undead? He wasn't even sure what he was anymore. There was much of what happened that was still a blur for him. But he was starting to settle into things now, at least as far as being a vampire went. Life itself was still confusing now that he was no long in the club or hiding after having been kidnapped...rescued?...from the club.
It did come with an advantage though. The fact that when he heard someone come behind him, he could smell who it was. He could tell that it was Jack even when he couldn't see his face to know who he was. Turning, he smiled warmly at him. Even when things were confusing he could at least be sure of this man's feelings. He had a...way of showing them but show them he did.
Moving over to him, he tilted his head to the side. "Welcome back."

In spite of having a nice apartment, Jae likes to spend his days out of doors. People are so different under the sun's light. It's like seeing a whole different side to them than when they sleep and dream. Often he wonders which is more real: the conscious or unconscious people. Are their waking ambitions and worries any more or less real than those they dream of? Maybe someday he'll learn.
Jae's on his way back from a park he's particularly fond of when the sight of a person waiting at a crosswalk catches his attention. No, it' snot unusual on its face, but this specific person has what looks like a blindfold on and an armful of groceries. The intersection is a busy one, but, unfortunately the crossing signal's audio cues are out of service. SO, being a creature that chooses kindness whenever he can, Jae makes his way over, clearing his throat softly to alert the stranger of his presence before he gets to his side.
"The crossing signal is broken. Can I help you across?"

A trip away from the city is just what they needed, Yohan said. He neglected to mention it was a trip to the mountains. And that they'd be utterly alone. No cadre of bodyguards haunting their shadows. Sure, business was likely to crop up, but it's nothing he couldn't manage from his phone. There was a hierarchy for a reason, after all. If the people he left in charge couldn't handle day-to-day affairs without him holding their hands... Well, they'll end up demoted. Or worse. Just the two of them for an entire weekend.
Well, it was only supposed to be a weekend. An unexpected change in the weather the first night made it seem like their stay will be longer.
It's fine. The cabin is well-stocked. There's a generator to keep the power on, but Yohan opts to curl up by the fireplace to stay warm. He's wearing a set of flannel pajamas (he was expect some cold, but not nearly as much snow) and a thick robe. Cozy, but in typical Yohan fashion, elegant. Conveniently enough, he brought an extra robe that just happened to be in Hayun's size.
"We might be stuck here for a while." What a shame. He couldn't have planned it better himself!

- 2024-12-17 16:33 (UTC) - ExpandSeung isn't the sort to go out a lot. Not outside of his regularly scheduled study groups and law review. He works hard, tirelessly. Maybe someday in the near or distant future, the lack of sleep will catch up with him. But tonight it hasn't. What has caught up with him is the emptiness of his sprawling penthouse apartment. It's not event the quiet that bothers him. He prefers it quiet so he can study or read. He enjoys the ambient sounds of the city life happening so far below. But every now and then, he craves something else alive in his space.
He should probably invest in a plant. A hardy plant that's hard to kill, because Seung would neglect it fiercely.
The people in his study group are always inviting him out. Even though he always says no, they always invite him. He's not sure if it's out of any real interest to be friends, or just to be polite. OR maybe they can smell how rich he is and just want to be close to that. Who knows? Seung's never had time for meaningful relationships. He's always been too busy trying to be the very best to impress a family he hardly knows. But also staying away from said family. The most prestigious schools all over the world, a year of travel for fun (and to get his head on straight after something that got dangerously serious rattled him), and now he's in the US for law school. Studying with the same faces night after night. Studying alone long after they've gone to bed.
But one of them mentioned a bonfire tonight at some beach far outside the city. And that's where Seung finds himself. Yes, he works hard. But when he does play, it's just as hard. No one watching him interact would imagine that he doesn't have a flock of friends. Very little comes up that he can't speak on with some knowledge. He's full soft laughs and easy smiles, always with a drink in his hand to lubricate the social interactions even more. But eventually, he finds himself sitting on one of those folding camping chairs by the fire. Someone might think him tired with his distant gaze and sleepy eyes. The truth is, he usually looks like that. Leaning back in the chair, he tips his head back, eyes turning skyward.
No stars. This far out of the city, he should see stars. But also...
"It smells like rain," he murmurs to no one in particular.

"Alright," Seokyoon agrees. A few drinks with their lunch will be nice. Relaxing. That seems like something Jongwoo needs. And Seokyoon's happy to help provide it. His life is calm, stable. It should be helpful to poor Jongwoo who's obviously distressed from whatever he went through at Eden.
He leads them to the cashier to pay and happily carries the bags the rest of the way to the restaurant. "Order whatever you'd like. It's not problem."
