Leaving Gaura alone when he's still so new to this life isn't something Jack enjoyed. The one who made this change necessary may be out of the picture, but he has allies, for sure. Very few vampires are friendless. And even if the one who made this necessary didn't care to lay a claim on Gaura (thanks to Jack's threats and violence), those supporting him might not be as quick to forget.

Though, very technically, Jack could simply point out that he turned Gaura so Gaura is his. It's the strongest argument a vampire can make. It's been something they've done forever: claiming a favored human out from under a rival. Though, in this instance, Gaura had been left for dead so there was no spite in Jack taking him.

Either way, with or without an external threat, Gaura is new to this life and leaving him alone is not Jack's preference. But he still has his own responsibilities to his 'family,' who are a bit salty that he took this action without getting their blessing. So, for now, it's best for him to keep Gaura protected. There might be more enemies than either of them realize after this.

Sliding his arms around Gaura's waist, he pulled the fledgling vampire closer, examining him with watchful eyes. "Were you okay alone?"

He couldn't see the look he was being given but he could feel those arms around him. Lifting his own, he rested his arms on the shoulders of the other. It was an intimate but comfortable position. Like they belonged this way somehow.

"I'm used to being alone so I was okay." After all he'd been kept from others at the club so he didn't have friends. Being alone was just a part of his life in a way. Though it felt like that was changing now that this man was here.

"Are you alright? Things must be so stressful for you right now..."

Because now that he was more aware of things, even if he didn't have every detail, he knew that Jack was important. Going through what he had with Gaura had to have put pressure on him. Not to mention how fussy everyone was these days about humans suddenly being changed. Especially club humans.

Stressful? Only a little more than usual. It's long been known that feelings for someone is probably one of the worst reasons to turn a human, and yet. That's something Jack will deal with on his own. How can anyone blame Gaura for his actions?

"It'll pass," he assures with a heavy sigh. "All things pass." In his life, Jack wasn't a patient person. However now? Seeing decades roll into a century into more, well, it's easier to see the "bigger picture." This, as frustrating at it is now, will pass. Society will lose interest in the scandal of Gaura's change and that will be that.

"I don't like you being alone all the time." His lips purse and he thinks on it a moment. "Would you be interested in meeting my sister? She is a very kind person." And probably the only member of his family that isn't casting judgement on him at this point.

They would pass. Still, it always troubled him to know that Jack was going through so much and there was really nothing he could do about it. All he could do was stay here and just try to get used to his senses, extreme as they were now. And get used to the hunger that he had these days as well. That was still quite a lot to contend with given the fact that he'd, obviously, never had cravings for blood before. Even being told that those would lessen with time didn't make now any easier.

Jack's offer pulled him right out of his thoughts though and he blinked. That wasn't something he'd expected at all.

"If she wouldn't mind, I'd enjoy that." He'd been wanting to meet his family after all. Especially since he knew he was a part of it now. But, he could hardly rush that with how complicated matters were. Matters involving him.

"She actually my sister by birth, you know," he mentions. Because that makes her more special to him. Special like Gaura's special. Most others in his life, friends and kindred, they could come and go and Jack might only notice briefly. But those two? No, they're not allowed to go away. They're his special ones.

"We're twins. But you can't tell it from looking at us. She'll like you. She's a good person." Unlike him.

His eyes widened as he learned more. Twins by birth. So they hadn't been made like he had. They were well and truly born into being vampires. Well that did complicate matters with himself more now that he was hearing that. Still, he smiled at the news and gave a happy little nod.

"Then I really would love to meet her. She sounds so special to you."

Among the older vampire families, that's not uncommon. Purity of the line is as important to them as it is to old human families. As if the chance of birth is something to be proud of. Well, it's always benefited Jack, even though it's nothing he himself accomplished.

"Maybe she can help you fill your time. She does a lot of charity work."

"Oh. If it wouldn't cause her problems I'd love to help."

He want even sure what he could do really. It wasn't like he really had many life skills thanks to do long in the club. Not to mention the fact that he didn't want to cause problems by existing since he knew there was so much drama surrounding him. Still, he did hope he could help in some small way.

"I'm not really used to having things to do actually."

If anyone, Michelle would be sympathetic to Gaura's sheltered life. She'd be patient and willing to teach him helpful things. It's really an ideal acquaintance. And it puts Jack at ease knowing Michelle will treat Gaura well and keep him protected.

"She'll understand."

He couldn't help himself. He leaned in to give Jack a kiss on the lips. A quick and soft one but one that showed the joy he was feeling. Of course, he looked down soon after, flustered by his own boldness. Were his cheeks flushed now? Did vampires flush? He honestly wouldn't know but he still couldn't believe he'd been so bold! Even if maybe it was alright? It certainly felt like they were a true couple now even with the complications.

"Um...how long are you staying tonight?" He wasn't even sure if he'd have much time with him. With the way things were, the complications as they were, it made sense. Yet it didn't make him stop missing Jack when he wasn't around.

Bold, indeed! A boldness that prompts a small smile and for Jack to hold him closer (just in case Gaura had any thoughts of skittering away after). He certainly doesn't mind Gaura taking liberties.

"I've taken care of all my business tonight." Unless something urgent ("""urgent""") comes up to pull him away, he's all Gaura's for the night.

He'd taken care of all his business. That meant he wasn't likely to leave unless something really came up. Gaura couldn't stop the way his face lit up knowing that. He'd get to spend all night with the man that he'd come to love with his entire being. That he somehow could be with now.

"Really? I'm so glad. I miss you when you're gone. I'm not sure how vampires take care of each other but maybe you can tell me? That way I can do something nice for you."

Vampires, at least in Jack's most immediate experience, don't do much to take care of each other. There are some who do. He's seen it from a distance. He and his sister would definitely do what they can to protect each other (and Michelle is always the first to call him out when he's being callous and unfeeling). Other than that? Their parents see them more as pieces on the chessboard, tools to spread their influence.

"I'm honestly not sure what vampires do to take care of each other," he sighs. "We'll find out together, won't we?"

That honestly sounded amazing. The pair of them learning the nice things about being a vampire together. Both of them had seen the worst parts of this world but perhaps they could find a light in it. With each other.

Since the first kiss had been so welcome, he leaned in to give him another kiss. Little by little, Gaura was finding himself more comfortable with things. Learning and discovering what made his boyfriend happy. Then wanting to do those things, of course. And right now? He wanted to keep learning more of that.

"Since you don't have anywhere to be, maybe we can try a little tonight? Find what we like best?"

"If you haven't anything better to do." A gentle teasing. He knows Gaura doesn't have any social contacts, no friends or family to pull him away from Jack's side. He wouldn't have been int he situation Jack initially found him in if he had anyone's support.

"Do you remember the night we played music and danced? That was fun."

Gaura couldn't see any expressions on his lover's face but he knew that he was being teased. For that reason, he giggled, his eyes sparkling with delight that Jack felt relaxed enough to do this.

"I really loved that. You're a very talented dancer and a good leader." He glanced to the side to find the music player. He'd been exploring this place a bit since he was living here now and it had helped him familiarize himself with things but that didn't mean he remembered where everything was instantly yet.

"Do you have a favorite song? We could dance to that. Then I could learn about something you love at the same time."
