[While Father Emmanuel Yoon may be a Catholic priest, and he may not act overtly romantic with anyone else at the hotel, Inari's heard from more than one source that his heart already belongs to someone else here. Maybe even multiple someones? Scandalous!

He gives the impression of a cold fish at first, but there's definitely heat of some kind simmering beneath his chilly demeanor and Inari's intrigued. His eyebrows shoot up at the answer and he sits up straighter, chin lifting off his hand.]

That's quite the mistake! And yet you've stayed to see the battle through to the end, have you?

I'm not the sort to walk away from a problem.

(( Especially when said problem will, if not stopped or mitigated, concern the whole world. ))

He also made it a little personal when he came after me directly. Twice.

(( He, the very least of Set's enemies by Emmanuel's own estimation. That guy's petty. But maybe Emmanuel can be, too. ))

Horus saved me both times.

(( Just to clarify he's not some super special bestest boy ever who could've bested a god on his own. ))

Spoken with the honor of a warrior... which would naturally offend such a vile creature.

[Inari's more than happy to throw critical levels of shade at Set, and only gets more so every time he learns something new about him. A pitiful excuse for a god.]

It's hard to believe that Horus and his father come from the same pantheon as him, isn't it? Never mind the same family. They've both been exemplars of courtesy and respect since I arrived.

(assuming this is pre-fake war)

(( Is it honor? Or is it a personal vendetta against all those things that would make human lives harder? Of course, he understands humans are pretty damn good at doing that, too, but he'll prevent those small evils from happening that he can. ))

My understanding, which is not at all nuanced, is that theirs is a pantheon that strives for balance... I suppose in that light it could make more sense that they're all fulfilling their assigned roles: Set's being chaos and destruction.

An interesting way of maintaining balance... I would say that destruction has an unfair advantage, given that it can always feed itself while progress tends to birth greater need.

[Inari shrugs, an unbothered smile lighting his lips.] But then, there's nothing easier than spotting a plan's weaknesses in retrospect, is there? And I've never been put in charge of building and maintaining an entire civilization, thank goodness for that.
