As it turns out, the guy Snake's kinda sorta fallen into a relationship with is a sea creature. A selkie, to be exact. And the selkie's other boyfriend? Also a sea creature. A siren, he's been told (not by his boyfriend's boyfriend — he doesn't speak for everyone's safety. Probably a good thing if any of the stories about sirens are even close to accurate.
Anyway, it's not like the three of them haven't hung out together before. Picnics, beach days, little adventures in town or closely neighboring places. Neither Aqua nor Myca seem too comfortable getting too, too far from the sea. A waterpark isn't the sea, but it's something they may like that they can't find at the beach. He hope they'll have fun, but he's low-key worried way in the back of his mind that the idea may fall flat.
As they get off the little shuttle at the front gates, tall, brightly colored water slides loom overhead. The sounds of splashing and laughter can be heard as Snake pays for their entry. Once inside, there's so much to see and do. The tall slides coiled in spirals, smaller, more straightforward slides, deep diving pools, shallow pools for swimming, even shallower pools for young children to splash in, a wave pool, one to simply float in with noodles, floaties, or donuts.
Snake paused, situating their group out of the immediate foot traffic of others coming into the waterpark. He looks up and ahead, then plots his hands on his hips and turns his attention to his companions. "What looks fun?"
The ocean is his home. It's his means of escape. It's near to where he hides his pelt. The ocean is Aqua's favourite place. Land is definitely gaining popularity in Aqua's mind, given that it houses both of his absolute favourite people, but it'll never quite reach the heights that the ocean does. Just being able to hear the waves or smell the salt in the air makes him feel so much better in a way that land never can. He tries to be brave and venture outside of his comfort zone, but it's been difficult.
A waterpark isn't the sea or the ocean, but it's not entirely land either. It's something in between. An interesting compromise.
More than interesting, actually. Aqua breathes in a truly dramatic gasp as he looks around, eyes as wide as saucers. It's all so overwhelming, but in such a good way. Such an exciting way. The tall, brightly coloured things, and the spirally things and so many different kinds of pools! And everyone is having so much fun that he's smiling merely from watching them.
At Snake's question, Aqua throws his hands up in the air and delightfully declares, "All of it!"
Myca's reaction to the place isn't very different from Aqua's. Maybe a bit less openly dramatic, but he, too, is amazed by the sounds and colors around them. Everything looks so exciting! He can't risk using his phone here, so he'll have to use other means to communicate with his companions. Such as nodding in eager agreement with Aqua's declaration.
