As usual, when Jun texted to see if he was free, Dal wasn't completely free. Even in the cold, people still come calling in this neighborhood. Maybe not as many, for sure, but still enough. Enough that when Jun texted, Dal was watching the taillights of his most recent john receding. He's sinking deeper into his coat when he feels his phone vibrate in his pocket.

Seeing that it's a text from Jun makes him smile to himself. I'm almost at your place. Are you home? Oh, his smile fades just a little. He can get home quickly, it's not that far. But... he would've liked a shower before seeing Jun. Something to wash the smell of sex and sweat off of him. Something to wash off all the people who've touched him before seeing someone he actually cares about. If Jun's almost there, there's definitely not time for Dal to get home and shower.

And, honestly, in this weather? With the snow coming down steadily like this, Dal would be lucky to have hot water. Or power. At least he has his kerosene heater to keep the little place warm. Maybe not the best time for Jun to come by, but Dal's definitely not going to turn him away.

Dal shoots back a quick text with shaking hands say he'd be there in about ten minutes. If Jun gets there first, wait for him in front of the Chinese restaurant. It's definitely colder than Dal likes, but he can't stay in just because it's cold. Rent doesn't care about the weather. He pulls his hoodie up and begins a brisk trudge through the accumulating snow back to his place, hands tucked deep in his pockets...

Until he sees Jun standing there. Then he pulls a hand free and waves eagerly.

Jun's parents are in town. Not to see Jun, of course. They're here on business. The chances of them actually travelling to the other side of the globe just to see their own son are slim to none. The fact that they ended up seeing him at all, Jun attributes to the fact that where he's living belongs to them. They wouldn't have chosen to go there for him but rather because they own a place there so why would they spring for a hotel? They not so vaguely hinted at the fact that they'd prefer it if maybe Jun got a hotel room and leave the apartment to them for the duration of their stay.

So Jun left. He didn't bother taking the time to pack anything to take with him, nor did he make sure to prepare accommodations for himself. He grabbed his cell phone and wallet as well as a jacket and then he left. When he got outside and hailed a cab, the Denny's near Dal's place wasn't necessarily where he intended to go but it's where he ended up. He doesn't even considering stepping inside but rather walks right past it, pulling out his cell phone and shooting off a quick text to Dal. If he's not at home, then Jun will double back and sit in the warm Denny's while he actually looks for an alternate place to stay tonight. He probably shouldn't be foisting himself on his friend like this but what's done is done. The text is sent and Jun's already almost to the Chinese place.

Jun stands waiting for Dal with his hands in his pockets, a dark expression on his face as he stares down at the snow in front of him. That is, until he hears approaching footsteps crunching in the snow. He slaps a bright smile over the darker expression when he looks up and sees his dear friend. He shakes his head to shake loose some of the snow that's started to accumulate on his hair before trotting over to Dal.

"Sorry about the short notice."

He only catches a glimpse of the change in Jun's expression. It's enough to clue him in that something's going on in his friend's life. Maybe Jun will tell him. Or maybe he'd rather not talk about it. Dal won't push.

He shakes his head to brush off Jun's apology as he waves for Jun to follow him around the back of the building to get them inside and out of the snow. It might not be much warmer inside, but it's out of the elements, at least. "Don't worry about it," he assures as he leads Jun up to his apartment. He's a little surprised when the the light flickers on.

"I have an extra blanket if you're cold," he offers. Though Dal's cold, he sheds his outer jacket, keeping his hoodie on. He doesn't want the snow or its dampness on the bed. It needs to stay dry. Dal cross the small room quickly to pull the kerosene heater closer to the bed. They'll probably need that, even if the power doesn't fail.
