"Alright," Seokyoon agrees. A few drinks with their lunch will be nice. Relaxing. That seems like something Jongwoo needs. And Seokyoon's happy to help provide it. His life is calm, stable. It should be helpful to poor Jongwoo who's obviously distressed from whatever he went through at Eden.
He leads them to the cashier to pay and happily carries the bags the rest of the way to the restaurant. "Order whatever you'd like. It's not problem."
Relax. Something that Jongwoo has gotten to do precious little of since leaving his mother's home and moving to the city. It's been one thing after another since the moment he stepped off of the bus. One thing after another, piling up, getting worse and worse until he finally broke. The time he spent in the hospital after everything that happened was one of the first time he felt he could truly relax. But then he was discharged and the world was waiting for him. The world that helped to shape him into what he is now.
Jongwoo silently follows Seokyoon to the restaurant, trailing about half a step behind. He keeps his eyes mostly down, moving back and forth between Seokyoon's feet and the bag in his hand. He's trying to keep his eyes off of the people around him. He's trying to keep himself from watching them and trying to keep from noticing the way they're watching him (no one is watching him. The eyes on him are imagined).
Even when they enter the restaurant, Jongwoo isn't quite looking at the woman taking their order. "I'll just have a large order of tteokbokki. What about you?" He turns to Seokyoon, the only person he's actually looked at since leaving the convenience store.
Jongwoo's been through something traumatic. Seokyoon can't fault him for coming out a little odd on the other side. No, he doesn't know the details, may never know the details, but he knows Jongwoo (but does he? Does he really?). What Jongwoo needs, what he needed then, too, is a supportive friend.
"A large japchae." Enough to share.
Thankfully, this time of day isn't so busy so they don't have to wait to long for their meals. If they don't make any unexpected detours, it won't be long before they're back at the apartment and able to eat it. Seokyoon didn't realize how hungry he was until they walked in the restaurant and the delicious smell of food assaulted him.
"Will you carry the food back?" And he'll carry the beer.
