[David doesn't spend a huge amount of time around the pool, being an indoor type by nature and still rather self-conscious around so many gods and their godly bodies, but he does get dragged out now and then. Mostly by Lucas but sometimes by Anubis or Sobek. It's thanks to Sobek that David first notices the handsome older man who sporadically shows up at the hotel and never quite seems to fit in - Sobek will take any opportunity to discuss his amazing boyfriend and apparently, David comes to discover, that's him.

Sobek doesn't mention whether or not he's human, but David has a hunch. Very few of the supernatural beings here look much older than 25 and The Boyfriend is at least pushing 40. That's what leads David to grab the lounger beside him after storming off on Lucas yet again and finally ask:]

Hey... you're human too, aren't you?

(( Does he mention whether or not his amazing boyfriend is married? Cause that wedding band's probably a strong indicator... (Sorry, Seb, he never takes it off [because he's terrified of losing it or forgetting it])

Siwan blinks at the question. It still seems odd, even knowing what he knows. But the confusion is incredibly short lived, a gentle kind of smile replacing it as he nods. ))

I am, yes. Very human.

(( He sits up a bit to stretch out a hand in greeting. ))

[OOP. David's eyes barely linger on the ring but he does notice. So many clandestine romances around this place...]

David. [He keeps the handshake quick since his own hand is still chilly from the pool.] I'm not xenophobic or anything, I swear, but... man, sometimes I just need to talk to another normal person for awhile. This is the most humbling place on the damn planet.

(( He hums in agreement. Not even just knowing probably 80% or more of the people here aren't human... ))

It's a little unfair how attractive they all are.

(( Said extremely quietly. ))

Right?!

[So it's not just David who can't stop noticing - even Siwan, who's dating (having an affair with) one of them can barely handle it! He's so excited by this revelation that he maybe blurts out his response at top volume after Siwan took such care to be quiet, but he does at least drop his voice back to a conspiratorial volume afterwards.]

Right? And in all different ways, too! Like - well, I don't need to tell you about Sobek, but Horus is this big, buff warrior-looking guy with the scar and everything, and then Osiris is prettier than any girl I've ever met but somehow still handsome too? And the newer guy... Anubis? Basically the reason cuteness aggression as a concept exists, I want to hug him and punch him into the sun at the same time. That's without even getting into the Japanese ones, or the fucking devil.

[So, yes. David is a very safe space for talking about good-looking men, Siwan. And no, he didn't bring up angels, but that's just because he's very angry at Lucas right now.]

(( Listen! Siwan's very closeted, okay? Just because he's seeing someone on the down low doesn't mean he's used to seeing a lot of very attractive men parading around in next to nothing!

And please keep your voice down, David! ))

Yeah, dude. Lucifer's real, and he's on our side. That's how bad Set is.

[David's utterly thrilled to be able to deliver this news, especially to someone who's just as shocked as he was when he found out, and it shows.]

I haven't met him yet, but I just assume he's probably hot too.

(( If all these other gods are real... Why not Satan, too? It's still a lot to wrap his brain around. Siwan never believed in any of that stuff. A dry chuckle answers David's comment. ))

I suppose he'd stick out if he wasn't.

[David snorts out a laugh at the remark. Huh - turns out Siwan's pretty cool.]

They've even got me going to the gym now. You think you'll be able to coast on being 6'2" for awhile and then boom, gods everywhere. [With a sidelong glance, David adds:] For the record, just human to human, you got easily the best looking one. Congrats, man.

(( He certainly thinks Seb... Sobek is the finest among them, yes. Not that the others aren't ridiculously attractive, but not in a way that's more then aesthetically appealing to Siwan. None that inspire in him what Sobek does.

Color rises to his cheeks and, after stealing one fleeting glance at Sobek in the pool, Siwan looks down at his hands. ))

[Oh, that's awfully cute. Either their thing is quite new or something else is quite new for Siwan, which might explain why he keeps lowering his voice. As well as the wedding ring, of course - some couples just open up the relationship if one of them wants to explore, could be the case for him.

David's just gonna make a guess, his own voice still pitched respectfully low and a kind smile on his face.]

First boyfriend?

You might wanna tell Sobek that... he doesn't really shut up about you.

[And David didn't need to get so gossipy about it in the first place, so he'll add a quiet:] Sorry.

(( Ah, even feeling shy can't stop the warmth that creeps into his features. ))

He's fine. Our social circles are very different. When we're out together, he's always perfectly appropriate. He took it upon himself to make up some story about being a work colleague if anyone ever asks.

[Ugh, it's so cute he wants to die, but David can't help but be happy for them. A married, closeted rich dude and an outsider god? Their odds of finding each other were not good, and yet.]

Yep, just like that. Same look on his face, too.

(( Same look? Siwan’s hand lifts to his cheek in surprise. He’s obviously seen the way Seb looks at him, the way he looks when he introduces him to the people he knows. It’s a look that makes him feel like his heart could overflow. And being he told he looks at Seb with the same expression? Maybe it shouldn’t be surprising, but it feels good to hear. ))

He’s very effusive.
